About Mulberry Group

Our story

Mulberry Group was founded in Melbourne in 2023 by Dimitrios Bairaktaris and Nathan Hollis, two technology leaders who had spent their careers inside large enterprises and had seen, from the client side of the table, how solving problems inside complex organisations actually gets done.

They had watched large consultancies sell senior partners, then staff the engagement with graduates learning on the job. They had seen vendors steer technology decisions toward their own platforms, regardless of fit. They had seen CIO's and GM's of Technology introduce technology based on previous relationships with vendors irrespective of the fit in the new enterprise. They had sat through frameworks and methodologies that looked impressive on paper but fell apart when they met the reality of legacy systems, organisational politics, creaking architectures and limited budgets.

Over time, they observed the patterns and the repeated mistakes, and worked out what actually holds up and what does not. In their view, the technology changes continually, but the failure patterns and the secrets to success stay remarkably consistent. The same concepts and ideas that worked years ago still work in 2026, and so the firm took its name from the old nursery rhyme, where round and round the mulberry bush we go. The patterns and techniques for successful architecture and delivery, learned over many decades, still hold true, and they are amplified rather than replaced by the wave of the future, in particular AI

Mulberry was built to be the practical answer to ivory tower consulting. A firm that is fiercely independent, with no commercial ties to any vendor. A firm that only fields senior practitioners, because complex technology decisions deserve people who have made them before. And a firm that measures its success not by how long an engagement lasts, but by how quickly the client can stand on their own.

Today, Mulberry advises enterprise leaders across retail, supply chain, energy, and healthcare on their most consequential technology decisions. We are deliberately small, intensely experienced, and completely independent. Every engagement is led by people who have held CIO, CTO, and executive leadership roles. We do not have a bench of juniors waiting to be deployed. We have a team of practitioners who have done the hard work inside organisations like yours.

What we believe

These are the principles that shape how we work, who we hire, and how we treat the people we work with and are the standards we hold ourselves to every day.

Our family comes first

We prioritise the wellbeing and happiness of our people and their families. We set clear boundaries, respect personal time, and drive the conversation on balance. This is how we choose to live and how we attract and retain the kind of people our clients rely on.

We do the right thing

Integrity drives every decision we make. We speak up when something is wrong, make transparent recommendations, advise honestly and fairly, and treat client information as sacrosanct. When we see an opportunity for improvement, we say so, even when it is not what someone wants to hear.

We love our clients, we love our work

We are purpose-driven. We start with why, define how we will achieve it, and then focus on what needs to be done. We set measurable milestones, deliver tangible value, and take pride in peer-reviewed work. Every deliverable that leaves Mulberry carries the standard of people who care about what they produce.

We think and act positively

Optimism fuels our actions and helps us overcome challenges. We use positive language, frame problems as opportunities, and solve proactively.

We help each other to get things done

Teamwork is at the heart of our success. We share knowledge, share credit, share challenges, and share feedback openly. A client never works with a lone consultant at Mulberry. They work with a team that operates as one.

Why Mulberry

There are many firms that offer technology advisory. Here is what makes Mulberry different.

Fiercely independent

We have no commercial relationships with software vendors. Our recommendations are based on what fits your business, not what earns us a referral fee. When we assess a platform, a vendor, or an approach, the only interest we represent is yours.

Senior practitioners only

Every person on an engagement has held leadership roles inside enterprises. We do not sell senior partners at the pitch and staff with graduates. The people you meet are the people who do the work.

Practitioners, not theorists

We have led transformations, built architectures, selected platforms, and managed the politics of change inside complex organisations. Our advice comes from experience, not from a framework we read about.

Fit for purpose

We tailor every engagement to the client’s context, constraints, and ambitions. We do not apply one-size-fits-all methodologies or recycle the same recommendations across different businesses.

Enabling the home team

We build client capability, not dependency. Our success is measured by your ability to keep going without us. We want to be the last advisory firm you need, not the first of many.
